Who we are?
The Alexandria vitreoretinal society is the only formal organization representing Retina specialists in northern Egypt and one of the few vitreoretinal subspeciality societies in the middle east and Africa.
The society started its formal scientific activities in January 2020, after working several years under the name “Alexandria Retina Meeting”.
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure a standardized vitreoretinal practice in our territory and the surroundings through three major pillars.
Regular CME activities to open areas of interest for discussion, this is accomplished by organizing regular seminars, meetings, workshops, and panel discussions, that all retina specialists as well as juniors have access to.
Organizing an annual meeting to showcase most prominent contributions of the year, merge experiences with retina experts from local and global communities.
Offer training opportunities to the future medical and surgical retina specialists.

Our vision is to have a dynamic interactive vitreoretinal community in our territory, with a tendency to find a standardization and consensus over practice trends.
